10 Incredible Homes in the Italian Countryside that rent for under $150 per Night | Our Next Adventure (2024)

Think you can’t afford a trip to the Italian countryside?

Sipping Chianti at the footsteps of a vineyard while the kids splash in the garden pool sound wonderful? You might think, “yeah, that sounds great and all, but definitely not within my reach.” Well, I’ve got some good news for you — it totally is!

I’ve done a lot of looking at Airbnbs lately, since we booked all Airbnb stays for our upcoming adventure through Italy. From Milan to Manarola, Florence and Rome, I’m pretty excited to see what these places have in store for us.But the one that I’m most excited for?Thevineyard country house in Umbria!

And you know what? Staying at thathouse in the Italian countryside is actually ridiculouslyaffordable! Dare I say, almostmore affordablethan the tiny apartment we’ll be renting in Rome or Florence. That’sall inthanks to the so-called “Agriturismo“.

Not an incredibly new concept, but one that has certainly picked up in popularity in recent years. An agriturismo is essentially a “farm stay”…local farmers turn a portion of their estate into accommodations as an extra source of income, and in return guests get a very reasonably priced stay in authentic regions of Italy that might otherwise never see tourists. It’s a win-win!
